Our brand-new facilities allow us to continue expanding our curriculum offer, ensuring students experiences are both varied and enriching. The premises has undergone a comprehensive programme of refurbishment, and reached completion in May 2019. Our newSports Block opened in May 2019, and has fantastic facilities including a Sports Hall, Activity Studio, Multi Use Game Areas.
Having been recognised as 'Outstanding’ by OFSTED in June 2017, we are excited to have new members of staff join us in delivering transformative learning experiences. The inspectors commented that 'learning is the business of the day’ and that sentimentunderpins all that we do. Since then, the school continues to grow and strive for the highest standards.
**Main Areas of Responsibility**
**Routine Academy Financial Control Tasks**
- Collecting money from students in connection with academy trips, uniforms or other necessary payments
- Raising and Issuing purchase order forms to budget holders and then ensuring all orders once complete are processed through the academy’s accounting system
- Aiding teachers and budget holders in sourcing the very best resources and cost-effective solutions with an aim of cost reduction
- Obtaining authorisation, coding and posting the purchase invoices and maintaining the purchase ledger
- Raising and issuing sales invoices and maintaining the debtor’s ledger; ensuring collection of monies owed on a timely basis
- Raising BACS payments for purchase invoices in accordance with Payment run deadlines and ensuring correct approval process is adhered to
**Disadvantaged Students and Free School Meals**
- Ensuring at enrolment that the Sixth Form and the Finance Department team have accurate data on disadvantaged and FSM
- Administering the practical process of bursary payments and ensuring audit requirements are met and disadvantaged students are fairly and equitably treated and supported in the academy’s curriculum provision and teaching delivery
- Checking the protocols and controls are adhered to by the Sixth Form Bursary team
- Making payments (grants and academy trips etc); and keeping appropriate records
- Reconciling the petty cash on a weekly basis and ensuring correct protocol is adhered to
- To be responsible for the academy banking and posting of bank receipts;
- Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
- Dealing with queries both internal and external
- Ensuring an appropriate filing system is maintained
- Assisting Finance Officer in any ad-hoc queries and duties
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Qualifications to Level 3 or above (A level or equivalent)
- Knowledge of a variety of financial recording systems
- At least one year's experience working in a finance department
- Experience of working within financial controls
- Experience of assisting with budget setting and budget management
- Good verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders
- IT Literate/ Microsoft Office
- Organisational skills
- Highly numerate
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team
