Barnardo's is proud to be a delivery partner of Sandwell's Family Hubs across the Borough. The service provides a range of quality services for families, locally designed for the 6 town areas of the Borough, divided into 3 areas:
Cluster A - Oldbury, Smethwick

Cluster B - Tipton, Rowley Regis

Cluster C - Wednesbury and West Bromwich

**The Early Years team take an active lead to work with partner organisations, local communities and residents to achieve best outcomes for the families within that area.**

This is a new exciting opportnuity to join the Early Years team

**Objectives/key activities - Early Years Team**
- Plan and deliver targeted service elements, producing KPI's and outcomes i.e.:

- Play, Talk, Read Programmes to parents in coordination with Sandwell's PTR guidance framework; prioritised using additional resource through partnership with National Literacy Trust
- Linking to Play, Talk, Read to increase the number of children 0-4 years who are active library members
- Focus group sessions for those children scoring Red and Amber Wellcomm Assessments
- To proactively promote and increase library membership
- To take a lead on the collation of data for Play Talk Read sessions in towns with line management responsibilities.
- To ensure that we have a consistent Home Learning Environment offer to families accessing Early years services
- To promote the ELT and NEF options with families through:

- Active promotion of the opportunities to families
- Ensuring that the wider Family Hubs team is aware of the offer and promoting with families.
- Promotional materials in the centres and other community venues
- Informal discussion with parents about the options available to them within children's centre services and community offer.
- Direct follow-up with parents who have children that qualify for ELT but have not taken up the offer of a place in partnership with the local authority.
- To undertake Wellcomm assessments and support children
- Focus will be on children in early years settings, who are between 18-24 months.
- Those children scoring amber or red in the assessment to be supported as appropriate using the associated resource book.
- To take a lead on collating data for wellcomm screening assessments in the towns.
- Planning and delivery of target language groups for those children scoring Red and Amber Wellcomm Assessments as an intervention.
- To complete and support others to complete Watchful eye documents to support Children's development alongside data collation and analysis of Watchful eye document.
- To take an active lead in inclusive practice within the Early years team.
- To engage with parents with preschool children across the relevant towns promoting take up of School Readiness Sessions including delivery of sessions.
- Work with the wider Family Hubs teams, including support for volunteers, to deliver activities and service specifics to meet the needs of the service across the borough.
- To support the delivery of Stay & Play sessions for families in venues across each town through voluntary sector organisations and volunteers working with Family hubs staff.
- To work alongside the SMBC Early Years Team in particular children's centre teachers to support providers of early years services.
- To inform Early Years lead of children identified as SEND within Family Hubs services to aid support with developmental progress of children, to help ensure that these children are tracked and supported. Further support will be provided by Autism West Midlands and SPDC for families with new and emerging diagnosis with seamless links with EYILS service.
- To line manage Early Years team members, including the provision of monthly supervision, coaching and PDR completion
- To actively engage in reflective case and personal supervision, PDR's and be responsible for updating learning, implementing into practice and develop skills to meet service needs.
- To meet the needs of the service evening and weekend work will need to be undertaken as and when required.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate within your job role to reflect the needs of the service.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,300.00-£36,029.00 per year
