The School of Healthcare Sciences is recruiting Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and customer focussed team with enhancing the student experience as a key motivator? We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent organisation and communication skills to join our Quality Support team. You will work collaboratively with the Quality and Standards Manager and the Directors of Learning and Teaching to ensure standards of delivery are met and quality processes remain fit for purpose. You will have line management responsibility for a small team and will coordinate the school’s external examiner system; programme evaluation and student voice activities; contribute to preparation for annual and periodic quality reviews and support curriculum development and approval activity. The team currently work a hybrid model working on campus for certain days or remotely from home depending on business need (the option to work on campus full-time is available).- This position is full-time, 35 hours per week and open-ended.**Salary**: £29,762 - £34,314 per annum (Grade 5).**Date advert posted: Friday, 31 March 2023**

**JOB PURPOSE**

To lead and manage the school’s quality team; co-ordinating the school’s external examiner system; programme evaluation and student voice activities; contributing to the preparation of annual and periodic quality reviews and support curriculum development and approval activity. To work collaboratively with the Quality and Standards Manager and the Directors of Learning and Teaching to ensure standards of delivery are met and remain fit for purpose.**MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Providing professional advice and guidance to both internal (students, academic and professional support staff within and outside of the School) and external stakeholders (PSRB, HEIW, External Examiners, and external representatives e.g. Health Boards) on programme development and approval activity within the Quality teams remit.
- Working with the Quality & Standards Manager and the Directors of Learning and Teaching to ensure that standards of delivery are met at all times, processes remain fit for purpose and activities are appropriately resourced to meet the School’s strategic priorities.
- Manage the operation of the quality team, planning, organising and delegating work, monitoring progress and intervening as required. Ensuring the delivery of the team’s service level agreements, adapting these according to changes in workload and customer requirements.
- Manage the performance, induction and development of the team and support and guide team members in welfare issues, escalating as necessary to specialist support areas.
- Managing the School’s external examiner system including coordinating the appointments process, paying close attention to potential conflicts of interest and reciprocity issues, undertaking right to work checks, arranging induction days, and coordinating the timely completion of the School’s responses to External Examiner annual reports. Liaising with Programme Managers, the School’s Assessment and Student Cases team and central teams as appropriate. Review and analyse the External Examiner reports, identifying any trends, areas of concern or sharing of good practice to bring to the attention of the relevant Directors of Learning and Teaching.
- Coordinating programme and module evaluation and other student voice activities across the School, including findings analysis, providing comparative and longitudinal data to support the identification of good practice, matters for concern and scope for quality enhancement, and coordinating regular feedback reports to students on outcomes.
- Taking a key role in the preparations for internal and external annual and periodic quality reviews, including coordinating the production of statistical information, liaising with Programme Managers and drawing to the attention of the Quality & Standards Manager and Directors of Learning and Teaching any issues arising out of individual Programme Management Groups which may have wider resonance or implications across the School, College or University.
