We are seeking to appoint a diligent and proactive individual for the position of Education Welfare Officer at Sheffield Park Academy.

We need someone with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record in improving attendance. This role will suit somebody with ambitions to develop their career, working closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team.

**Main duties will include**:

- Work closely with the attendance team and promote good attendance with specific groups of students.
- Engage with parents/carers in the promotion of good attendance.
- Meet regularly with Pastoral Leads to oversee student attendance and discuss individual students causing concern.
- Manage the caseload of more complex and demanding attendance/punctuality concerns and welfare issues referred to by Pastoral Leads.
- Carry out initial assessments of the young person and family to plan appropriate intervention.
- Ensuring records for these cases are kept up to date.
- Develop provision of support for parents/carers, for example, those who are struggling with their skills to parent their children.

- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
