Transport Planner

My client is a well established and growing business within the waste and recycling industry. As they continue to develop the business they are looking for a transport planner / administrator to play a pivotal role in their operations.

The transport administrator will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the transport and administration departments.

Responsibilities will include:

- Planning and controlling outbound logistics to customers considering operational resource/restrictions
- Order processing and confirmation.
- Liaise with Customers, Customs and Hauliers ensuring all documents are received within the designated time frame.
- Completing Export customs clearance and Annex VII to ensure loads can be shipped
- Manage the export process from start to finish, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with key customers
- Resolving service-related queries and invoice/charge queries on behalf of the customer with the support of the finance and sales team.
- Carry out various administrative tasks, including preparing and handling all relevant documentation
- Updating customer details on the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system
- Establish and develop good working relationships with all stakeholders, including Customers, Drivers, Transport Manager, the Sales team, and third-party contractors
- Excellent communication skills to liaise across the business and with customers.
- Knowledge of Customs clearance.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload effectively.
- Experience in working to tight deadlines
- Good attention to detail
- Strong PC skills - knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ideally experience in the transport / logistics industry.
