Workshop Fitter

As a workshop fitter you will be involved in providing repair, refurbishment, storage, and other services primarily at the Rushden location to cater to the needs of the Construction, Industrial, and Used Divisions.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Equipment Preparation**: Ensure equipment is prepared for dispatch as per specifications and drawings.

**Health & Safety**: Adhere to H&S objectives in accordance with the company's H&S Management System.

**Communication**: Responsible for providing regular progress updates to the line manager.

**Strategic Support**: Assist in supporting strategic plans and action plans of the Construction Division.

**Process Improvement**: Lead and drive continuous improvement in Workshop operations, focusing on quality, safety, cost, and efficiency.

**Budget Management**: Meet revenue and gross margin targets set for Workshop activities.

**Progress Monitoring**: Keep track of work completed and report progress accurately.

**Spare Parts**: Provide product support to the spares team and manage direct staff involved in Goods In, Stores, Pick Pack, and Dispatch.

**Personal Development**: Continuously work on personal development.

**Key Personal Attributes**:

- Proficient in Written Communication
- Meticulous Attention to Detail
- Basic IT Skills (Word & Excel)
- Flexible Attitude towards Working Hours to meet customer commitments and targets.

**Competencies Required**:

- Over 3 years of relevant experience
- Mechanical fitting experience from a production, refurbishment, or plant maintenance background.
- Skilled in MIG welding
- Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training
- Demonstrated success in technical skills within construction, industrial, access, and/or capital equipment (preferred)
- Ability to learn and develop in a complex technical environment
- Effective communication and reporting skills, both written and verbal.
