Calf Rearer

Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Calf Rearer to join our team on a high yielding dairy farm. We milk 400 cows and calf all year around, an average of 7 to 10 per week.

We rear all our own replacements so this position it really important. The successful applicant will be responsible for this area of the farm.
- The role involves caring for calves and ensuring their well-being on a daily basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide daily care for calves including feeding, watering, and monitoring health
- Maintain cleanliness of calf pens and surrounding areas
- Assist with the birthing process and provide post-natal care for newborn calves
- Record keeping, administering medicines, vaccinations, and also monitoring calf performances and weight gains.
- Disbudding (with assistance from other staff members.)

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in animal care and rearing dairy calves is necessary for this position.
- Basic mathematical skills for feed measurements and calculations

We are happy with either Self employed or Employed - Rate of pay will depend on which you choose and also experience.

Hours and days are all flexible - this can be discussed.
