To ensure that the accounting records in the Trust's ledgers are correct and financial controls are followed.

**Description**
- Manage and supervise the General Ledger function (Accounts Receivable and Payable functions) team outputs, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Monitor and report on progress against team and individual objectives
- Monitor and report performance against service standards to the Head of Financial Accounting (HoFA) and GLM providing solutions where not on track.
- Monitor and report performance against KPI targets to HoFA and GM; taking action where not on track
- Ensure that GL processes are documented, embedded, and adhered to
- Communicate and embed the financial controls framework and ensure adherence; report deficiencies to GLM
- Continually review and improve processes
- Assist the GLM deputise in their absence, in the management of cut-off and closure of the sub ledgers as part of the period end processes
- Assist GLM to ensure a customer focused approach in providing professional, clear, and timely responses to queries from suppliers, funders and colleagues, providing analysis and reports to key stakeholders as required
- Work with the internal and external audits as required
- Assist in the development and delivery of training to finance and non-finance colleagues
- Ad Hoc duties commensurate with the role as required
