- Russell-Taylor Group has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Test Engineer to join a global testing company within their Environmental testing department. They are looking for someone to play a key role in delivering environmental, mechanical, ingressprotection and battery testing projects for clients. _
**The role**:
- Prepare test plans and costing proposals using provided templates.
- Conduct environmental and mechanical testing in accordance with requirements of EN/IEC 60068-2, MIL-STD 810 and RTCA-DO-160 series of standards
- Conduct ingress protection testing in accordance with requirements of EN/IEC 60529
- Conduct battery testing in accordance with requirements of UN38.3, IEC 62281 and IEC 62133 standards
- Record test data and test results
- Produce test reports
- Provide weekly project status updates to external clients and other internal test labs
- Participate in test scheduling meetings with lab manager and other internal test labs
- Deliver testing projects within agreed timescales
- Conduct technical reviews of test reports for projects delivered by other engineers in the team
- Share knowledge and provide training to other engineers in the team
- Provide technical support to other engineers, external clients and other internal teams
- Participate in annual ISO 17025 test lab accreditation assessments
- Support lab manager with maintenance of ISO 17025 test lab accreditations
**The person**:
- Minimum 5 years relevant testing experience
- Experience of testing products in accordance with EN/IEC 60068-2, MIL-STD-810 and RTCA-DO-160 series of standards
- Experience of testing products in accordance with EN/IEC 60529 standard
- Experience of testing in accordance with UN38.3, IEC 62281 and IEC 62133 standards
- Experience in recording test data and test results
- Experience in preparing test reports
- Experience of reviewing clients requirements and generating test plans and costing proposals
- Experience of being a technical reviewer for test reports prepared for other test engineers
- Experience of working in an ISO 17025 accredited test laboratory
- Ability to share knowledge and train other engineers in the team
- Ability to make technical decisions independently within established parameters
- Experience in measurement uncertainty and developing budgets for test equipment
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in both verbal and written format
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced, multi tasking environment
- Physical dexterity to operate equipment and perform duties of job (may include: bending, turning, reaching, balancing etc).
