**Validation Microbiologist**

**Job Overview**

reporting to the Head of Microbiology/Microbiology Manager-Validations. Providing service

and support for validation of test method, Particle size testing and sub visible particulate

testing.

**Main Activities & duties**:

- Routine testing of injectable solutions and suspensions for Sub visible Particulates.
- Particle size testing of finished products, in-process samples and raw materials.
- Development and validation of test methods for routine analysis of raw materials, in
- process and finished products in the following test types
o Sterility Testing
- Microbial Quality testing
- Specified microorganism testing
- Preservative Efficacy Testing
- Container Closure Integrity testing
- Endotoxin testing
- Preparation of validation protocols, reports, method of analysis and Standard

Operating Procedures as required
- Training of staff within the Microbiology Department in new Methods of Analysis.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Educated to a degree level in Microbiology or be able to demonstrate strong working

knowledge of microbiology techniques.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills as demonstrated on the
- Have good organisational skills, have the ability to analyse results, be highly motivated,

and be flexible regarding working hours outside of the normal shift pattern or on
holidays when necessary.
- Have experience in the routine performing of two of the test methods listed under

methods to be developed and validated.
- Be physically able to follow the entry and exiting procedure for the particulate

cleanroom.

**Desirable Criteria**:
Due to the nature of the role preference will be given to applicants demonstrating the

following desirable criteria:

- Experience of providing training to other people
- Experience of writing of scientific reports and test procedures
- Experience of working in a cleanroom.

**Location**: Newry

**Additional Information**:

- This role will be based in a site that produces and handles penicillin, and as such, this

role would not be suitable for those that have a penicillin allergy.
