**Job Summary**:
At our GKN Filton site, we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies, detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft. We have an new exciting and career defining opportunity for a Customs Specialist to join our growing Supply Chain team. Reporting directly to the Customs Compliance Specialist, the Customs Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Customs Compliance Specialist with day-to-day administrative activities. The role will consist of the incumbent liaising with 3rd party logistics providers to give clearance instructions on inbound and outbound goods checking returned entries for correctness, receipt and retention of relevant documentation (in accordance with requirements) and the maintenance of master data with relevant stakeholders.

**How You'll Contribute**:
The Customs Specialist will be responsible for the following:

- Resolves daily compliance and/or clearance issues with Customs brokers, 3rd party logistics providers and other stakeholders
- Check and confirm the Tariff Classification, Valuation and Origin (Preferential or Non Preferential) status for all imports and exports.
- Liaise with Export Control to ensure the inclusion of the correct licence information on export documentation.
- Minimise the payment of Customs Duty or VAT by using the appropriate Customs Regimes.
- Respond to requests for Information or Documentation to support government agency requests.
- Escalate any issues to the Logistics Manager or Customs Compliance Manager as required.
- Support the Preparation and submission of the quarterly Inward Processing Report.

**Essential**
- GCSE's or equivalent in Mathematics and English
- Experience working in a administrative role
- Proficient in using SAP
- Basic knowledge of using MS Excel
- Meticulous attention to detail

**Desirable**
- Basic knowledge of Important & Export Customs Legislation
- Knowledge of the Aircraft Manufacturing industry
