HMP Styal is looking to recruit 2 Full time - Band 5 - Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to work within the integrated mental health team to complement the existing healthcare service.

HMP Styal is based in Wilmslow and is easily accessible by public transport. It is a Female prison.

Greater Manchester Mental Health are the lead provider of mental health care services into HMP Styal.

As an part of the Integrated Mental Health team, you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the prison system, working with a full MDT to develop and maintain delivery of high quality, individualised, evidence-based patient centred nursing care. You’ll manage the assessment of mental health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care for the prison population, including clinical risk assessment.

You will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and be looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever-changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.

- Written, verbal and electronic forms of communication will be used.
- Maintain accurate patient and health care medication records on the electronic patient record and provide information as appropriate to
- Primary care, mental health and substance misuse teams
- NHS staff and other agencies to promote continuity of care.
- To enter information onto the Datix system relating to the safety and security of records of all interventions.
- To participate in service audits, both local and national and to provide accurate information.
- Support patients to address issues that affect their own health, behaviour and social welfare
- Support patients and exercise positive relationships within professional boundaries as part of a purposeful and caring regime
- Communicate effectively with all members of the Healthcare team
- Identify own learning needs and participate in training to develop and maintain knowledge, personal qualities and skills.
- Deal appropriately with request for potentially sensitive information weighing up the need for this information to be provided against patient confidentiality.
- The post holder will regularly be involved in communicating internally and externally with health and social care professionals within health and justice.
