Due to our extensive repeating client base and significant short-midterm sales pipeline, in parallel with our ambitious strategic growth plans, Innovation Group are currently searching for a Technical Buyer to join our highly skilled and motivated team based across our two Nottingham facilities.

**Role Purpose**

As the Technical Buyer you will lead our procurement function across all segments of the Innovation Engineering Group, including but not limited to Innovation Laser, Group Projects, and balcony installations. You’ll have a hands-on role within the team, involved in bespoke sheet metal and fabrication projects as well as developing products, working closely with current suppliers in addition to growing the supplier base, effectively negotiating across deliveries and cost price.

You will drive process improvements throughout the procurement function to ensure Innovation Engineering Group are able to meet future supply chain challenges. A flexible approach is essential, the ability to adapt a plan to meet changing requirements is key.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will manage, maintain, and further develop this area of the business in line with our long-term plans. Commercially astute, thorough sector knowledge, creativity, and strong supplier relationships you will ensure the continued evolution of our market leading offerings.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- To proactively seek to improve the cost of materials and resources.
- To liaise with Sales and Operations to ensure all procurement requirements are identified and delivered on time, in full and within budget.
- Management of our current supply base, along with identification, onboarding and vetting of new suppliers.
- Identify, manage, and resolve material supply issues, including management of longer-term supply chain risk.
- Monitor and communicate market price fluctuations to department heads.
- Manage overall stock levels in accordance to market fluctuations ensuring materials are sourced at the most competitive prices.
- Liaising with Production management to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
- Liaising with Finance team to provide procurement data and records.
- Manage periodic procurement reviews and supplier evaluation.
- Drive process improvement across the procurement function including refreshing and implementing a new PQQ system.
- To effectively manage the stock taking process ensuring that accurate stock levels are reported.
- Promoting the highest Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe working environment in line with the Company handbook.

**Key requirements and experience**
- Commercially and financially astute.
- Ability to negotiate prices and contracts.
- Familiarity of manufacturing sector a benefit.
- Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in managing budgets more than £3m.
- Ability to foresee and actively manage supply chain risk.
- Experience dealing with New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, numerate and analytical.
- Microsoft Excel & Word skills to advanced level.
- Experience working with suppliers in the UK, Europe, and Far East desirable.

**Salary**: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
