Warehouse Worker

Metro Fixings are looking for an **experienced**, **high quality**, stores person to work in a fast-paced warehouse, based in Welwyn Garden City.

General duties would include picking and packing, stock control and goods inwards. IT literacy would be helpful, Forklift licence/experience is preferable, attention to detail is an absolute must. Self-determination, pro-activity and a good attitude are essential to the position.

An aptitude test will be part of any interview process and will have a large bearing on suitability for the role. The position is open and waiting to be filled by the right applicant, however please note that we follow up on references from previous employers (if applicable).

**Responsibilities**:

- Receive and unload incoming shipments
- Verify and inspect received goods for damages or defects
- Sort, organize, and store inventory in designated locations
- Pick and pack orders for shipment
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred
- Drivers licence preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
- Basic computer skills for inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
