Recovery Coordinator

**Recovery Coordinator **who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

With this role you’ll be working as part of the Criminal Justice Team within Wear Recovery, working across Houghton-Le-Spring, Washington, and Central Sunderland. The role will also involve working within the local Police Station, Local courts, and Probation Service offices.

Amongst other service users the team supports people with a link between their substance use and their criminal behaviour. We work with individuals released to the community from prison who have an identifed treatment need. We also support those that are sentenced to engage with substance misuse treatment services by court, working closely with the Probation Service and Police as required. Working within the Police station, we identify those people who have been arrested with a need for treatment, and support them to engage with Wear Recovery.

**Hours**: 37.5hrs per week

**Salary**: £26,393.77 - £30,316.74 dependent on experience

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
- Providing screening, assessment, and recovery planning and onward referral
- Deliver DRR/ATR intervention in line with National Probation Service (NPS) court order requirements
- Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
- Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
- Provide information for courts and other criminal justice agencies of suitability for drug treatment interventions
- Deliver structured content within group settings to service users at various stages of recovery
- Engage with debriefing and evaluations with co-facilitators after groups/pods have taken place, reviewing progress and identifying concerns with service users

**About you**:

- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within criminal justice or related field
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
- Experience of supporting and advising participants with complex and/or multiple barriers to success
- Experience of carrying out DRR assessments (desirable but not essential)
