Carpenter (Fire Accredited)

**You will **undertake high quality repair, maintenance and new installation works to a range of Fire Doors and accompanying a variety of properties, including tenant’s homes, whilst maintaining high levels of customer care and safety awareness.

Carpentry works to various sites, including domestic dwellings, communal areas,Sheltered Housing Schemes. As a minimum the post holder must be able to undertake the following activities to a consistently satisfactory standard; o Maintenance to existing fire doors o Doors / frames incorrectly fitted or damaged o Doors not engaging o Incorrect / insufficient fire stopping between door frames and structural opening.(Behind architraves). o Faulty door closers o Damaged fire seals o Glazing not to specification o Remove/re-fix and install new internal and external doors and windows (timber andUPVC)
- Replace timber floors and structural timbers
- Install/repair garage doors (timber and steel)
- General carpentry works appropriate to NVQ Level 2.
- Required to install new fire door sets and carry out fire door maintenance to third party certification standards (FIRAS).
- All craft post holders are required to undertake a range of multi skilling, in order to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The position of ‘carpenter’ will also be regularly required to undertake;
- Plaster patching - patching to areas of work, e.g. preparation for glazed wall tiling, and making good where required.
- Brickwork - make good to holes in brickwork, make good flooring, point up lead works, making good where required, glazed and floor tiling.
- To effectively communicate with customers, line mangers to ensure all works, including emergencies, are prioritised correctly, appointments are maintained and documentation and certification is accurately completed and submitted within required timescales.

**Salary**: £14.67 per hour
