**Admiral Nurse - Dementia Specialist Nurse - Permanent Contract**

**£44,000 - £47,000 per annum, depending on experience**

Located in Bromley, KYN BICKLEY is an 86-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining; and inviting outdoor terraces overlookinglandscaped gardens bordered by woodland. We have a further three care homes in development in London.

**About the opportunity**:
In collaboration with Dementia UK, KYN Bickley are looking for an Admiral Nurse to provide specialist dementia nursing expertise to our professional carers and families of those who are supporting their loved ones living with dementia.

The Admiral Nurse will lead, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within operational areas of KYN.

In line with the Admiral Nurse Competency framework at an enhanced specialist level, the Admiral Nurse will provide:

- Specialist bio-psychosocial assessment and support for residents with dementia and families with complex needs
- Facilitation of education and training for staff in the delivery of evidence-based dementia care across KYN Bickley
- Clinical leadership with policy development and quality improvements in relation to dementia care across KYN Bickley
- Consultancy to other health and social care professionals regarding dementia
- Monthly Practice Action Learning Set supervision (PALS)
- Admiral Nurse Forum - one full virtual day, annually
- On completion of probation access to the competency framework masters module through Worcester University
- Dementia UK masterclasses in different areas - virtual/e learning

**Establishing the KYN dementia service**:
**About you**:

- You will be a Registered Nurse with post registration experience of facilitating training in dementia and/or care of older people with mental health needs.
- You will have experience of working with groups and individuals in a variety of roles and settings, including family carers or supporters of people living with dementia.
- You will have experience of leading and managing a service
- You will be a confident individual with a hands-on approach who will lead, motivate and inspire the team
- You will be an effective team player who builds professional and trusting relationships with every member of the team, ensuring they feel valued
- You will be patient with the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
- You will have excellent attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems before they arise
- You will be a compassionate, empathetic, kind, and caring individual
- You will have experience of developing relationships, with a wide range of stakeholders
- You will be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude to working arrangements as some weekend work will be required

**Desirable**:

- You will have a post graduate qualification in dementia leadership.
- You will have experience of supporting practice development and or quality improvement and service evaluation
