Deli Assistant

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and serve deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and hot food items
- Ensure food is presented in an appealing manner and maintain proper portion control
- Assist customers in selecting deli products and provide exceptional customer service
- Operate deli equipment such as slicers, ovens, and fryers
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
- Receive and stock inventory, rotate products, and monitor expiration dates
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines - Work as part of team

**Skills**:

- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for inventory management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfilment and maintain product quality

Note: Previous experience in a deli or food service setting is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

This role will require early mornings as well as weekends.

**Salary**: £6.40-£11.44 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
