Hope Meadows Equine Assisted Recovery CIC is looking for a Riding Instructor or Practitioner to deliver sessions on our three pathways; therapeutic horse riding, equine assisted therapy, and equine assisted activities.

Hope Meadows is an equine assisted therapy provider for adults, young people and children. We are driven by values of affordability and compassion, aiming to overcome the barriers to accessing mental health support wherever possible. We're looking for an individual who shares this ethos, and who can support the organisation as it continues to grow.

Hours are to be discussed depending on the successful individual, but it is anticipated this will be at around 10hrs/week initially, across weekdays and potentially a Saturday.

Interviews will be conducted on the 30th June, to start as soon as possible.

**Responsibilities**:

- To work as an accountable and autonomous practitioner in an equine assisted setting, working with adults and children who are struggling with their mental health, in a manner which demonstrates compassion and competence.
- To deliver safe and effective therapeutic riding instruction.
- To ensure delivery of a flexible, person-centred approach that enables individuals to feel heard and valued.
- Work creatively to plan, implement, monitor, and review therapeutic activities with individuals.
- Hold a caseload of 1:1 sessions in addition to facilitating groups and workshops as required.
- Establish effective working relationships with clients and their families.
- Work alongside other services, such as public mental and physical healthcare, third sector services, social prescribing, and education providers.
- Exhibit high levels of reflection, organisation, and efficient diary management.
- Participate in team meetings.
- To work within ethical guidelines, legislation, and organisational policies including safeguarding.
- Participate in staff development and performance appraisals.

Skills and Experience:

- Experienced horse rider
- Experience of working with adults and/or children with mental health needs
- Experience of working with adults and/or children with additional needs such as ADHD
- A compassionate and emotionally intelligent approach
- Experience of working across organisations
- Sound knowledge of issues facing the local community
- Professional coaching qualification _(desirable)_
- Professional qualification in mental health and associated registration, such as counsellor, occupational therapist, CBT therapist _(desirable)_

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: £15.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
