**Overview & Responsibilities**

As a Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of a maintenance workshop. This includes supervising all workshop activities, ensuring quality procedures are followed, and maintaining efficiency. You will also be responsible for controlling the production process, managing the labour force, and enforcing health and safety guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping the workshop tidy and maintaining a good reputation for the company, as well as identifying and addressing machine maintenance and consumable requirements. Finally, you may be required to attend training courses to further develop your skills and knowledge.

Supervision of all workshop activities
- Ensure quality procedures are followed
- Ensure work is completed to the highest standards as demanded by a turbomachinery OEM
- Ensure work instructions are followed and signed off and that quality records are completed and signed off
- Maintain efficiency
- Offer guidance and solutions where shop floor issues arise

Controlling the production
- Achieve deliveries as set by the production supervisor
- Prioritise jobs when required to maintain a smooth flow of work when they require the same shop resource
- Collect work instruction books and return to the production supervisor once complete
- Achieve targets for utilisation and ensure non-productive hours are kept to a minimum

Management of labour
- Direct supervision of all shop floor technicians
- Management of conflict and disciplinary if and when required
- Responsible for performance monitoring and end of year appraisal
- Allocate work to suit skills and support high productivity
- Determine overtime requirements
- changes to shifts to meet production demands
- Motivate shop floor personnel, particularly where difficult situations arise
- Identification and execution of skills-based training requirements

Health and Safety
- Ensure shop floor personnel operate within health and safety procedures as set out by the H&S
- Ensure that all accidents/incidents are reported and be involved with the investigation process as required
- Define shop floor training requirements and implement as required.
- Ensure the workshop is tidy and controlled
- Ensure a good image and maintain reputation of the workshop both externally and internally

Other
- Identify machine maintenance requirements
- Responsible for all subcontractors - ensuring all paperwork is in place and that they are working Health and Safety guidelines
- Identify consumable requirements
- Attend courses as required to further develop skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

- Minimum of HNC degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a heavy engineering workshop environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
