**Purpose of the Compliance Specialist**

**Main duties and responsibilities of a Compliance Specialist**:

- Conduct thorough analysis of GB and EU/UNECE legislation pertaining to the automotive industry, with a particular emphasis on type approval requirements.
- Stay up to date with the latest regulatory developments and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments, including engineering, product development, and quality assurance, to ensure compliance is integrated into all stages of the product lifecycle.

- Assist in preparing and submitting documentation required for type approval processes, including technical specifications, test reports, and compliance certificates.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and testing laboratories, to facilitate the type approval process and resolve any compliance issues that arise.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance, recommend corrective actions, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all compliance activities, including documentation, correspondence, and test reports.

**Experience/knowledge requirements for a Compliance Specialist**:

- Understanding of GB and EU/UNECE legislation pertaining to the automotive industry is desirable, particularly type approval requirements.
- Previous experience in quality assurance is beneficial.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards, such as ISO 9001, and IATF1694.

- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to documentation and record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
