**About the Role**
**Base Location**:New Forest, Southampton
**Base Salary**:£23,920 - £33,280 + Overtime & Standby Payments.

Christopher Hoare Tree Services are looking for Aerial Arborists to join the team.
The Aerial Arborists daily duties may include:
- Tree climbing and aerial pruning operations.
- Tree felling and processing.
- Being actively involved in the business’s health and safety.
- Setting up of safe work sites.
- Completing and/or signing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Co-operating with site visitors who are undertaking Quality and Safety site visits and audits on behalf of the client or company.
- Use of plant such as, woodchippers and stump grinders.
- Use of Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPS).
- Daily maintenance of company Plant, Machinery and Vehicles.
- Driving company vehicles to and from site.

Christopher Hoare Tree Services have a huge focus on your Continued Professional Development, as such we will provide refresher training, if applicable, on offer of your position and further training throughout your time at the business. The below requirements are taken straight from the Aerial Arborists Job Description, and although we would love to see all the below requirements met, we understand that may not be achievable and are happy to support the right individuals in gaining these.
The Aerial Arborist must hold and keep refreshed the following qualifications to fulfil their role:
Required:
- First Aid training
- Manual Handling
- City and Guilds NPTC - Safe use of Manually Fed wood-chipper
- City and Guilds NPTC - Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-Cutting
- City and Guilds NPTC - Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm
- City and Guilds NPTC - Tree Climbing and Rescue
- Attending toolbox talks, training sessions and safety engagements as required.
To work within the Utilities Department the Aerial Arborist must hold and keep refreshed the following qualifications in addition to the above:
- UA1 - Competence in Utility Arboriculture Basic Electrical Knowledge
- UA2.1 - Tree species and recognition, growth characteristics and associated hazards
- UA2.2 - Utility Arboriculture Ground-based pruning & Utility Arboriculture assisted tree felling
- City and Guilds NPTC - Aerial Cutting of Trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques
- UA2.3 - Utility Arboriculture Aerial Pruning
Qualifications and skills that may be desirable for an Aerial Arborist to hold:
- A minimum of 2 years industry experience
- GCSE or equivalent school certificates in English and Maths
- Full UK driving licence.
- City and Guilds NPTC - Safe use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform
- City and Guilds NPTC - Aerial tree pruning
- City and Guilds NPTC - Aerial Cutting of Trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques
- City and Guilds NPTC - Aerial tree rigging
- City and Guilds NPTC - Competence in felling and processing medium trees over 380mm and up to 760mm
- City and Guilds NPTC - Severing uprooted or windblown trees using a chainsaw
- Other qualifications which may enable you to provide a wider service within your role which may be needed by the company from time-to-time.
