Technical Advisor - Rockfon UK and Ireland

Rockfon are seeking a Technical Adviser to join their team based at their main office near Pencoed, Bridgend. This is a full time, permanent vacancy which offers a competitive salary, 30 days holidays, company pension, health care scheme and more.

Job Purpose & Scope
- To provide technical service and advice to both internal and external stakeholders.
- To receive and make telephone calls and Teams calls in a professional manner.
- To provide specific product and systems knowledge to clients in order to promote Rockfon solutions and the Rockfon brand in the UK and Irish markets.
- To work closely with the wider Rockfon team, particularly customer service and the commercial team to communicate information obtained regarding potential projects.
- Offering technical and design support to relevant stakeholders.

Key Result Areas
- Ensure 100% of all enquiries are answered
- Work towards the current department target of a 24 hour response time
- Sales Team - Same Day/8 hours

Key Responsibilities & Job Content
- Working closely with customer service and UK and Ireland based peers in developing and supporting the Rockfon South & UK I technical offer to customers. This includes installation advice and provision of details, drawings specification texts etc.
- Work with installers and customers in order to secure project specifications and orders.
- Confirm special products capabilities on request and be proactive in product recommendations standard and / or special where appropriate.
- Working on specific acoustic evaluation of project requirements and subsequent provision of advice and recommendations supported with: Reverberation time calculations, roof rain noise calculations and ceiling flanking noise insulation (Dnf,w) calculations.
- To provide contribution to technical training material for internal and external customers, including the preparation of training support, especially within the Continuous Professional Development.
- Assist in development of local solutions and to support new product and system development following the ROCKFON Group orientations
- Maintaining and updating product and system specification clauses in line with the latest National Building Specifications
- To assimilate National and International Building Regulations and product performance standards and requirements.
- Working closely with the ASM, PSM & CSMs to support claim and complaints management by giving technical expertise and be in close contact with factories.
- Supporting the Marketing department in the preparation of relevant documentation to support the sales team in securing specifications, including data sheets and technical data in price lists and NBS specifications in Uniclass and CAWS formats.
- Liaison with Technical Manager and Technical Trainer regarding development and progression of specialist product and system solutions.
- Work as part of a small team to manage all inbound technical enquiries within the agreed departmental service and quality standards. Ensure a high level of accurate and appropriate technical support / service is provided at every point of contact.
- Utilise every contact point to identify and explore opportunities for commercial gain, ensuring that advice and solutions offered are appropriate to the needs of both the customer and the ROCKWOOL business.
- Work in harmony with the commercial aspects of the business ensuring that at every available opportunity project / sales leads are forwarded to the appropriate departments / colleagues.
- Ensure all company / team administration and reporting processes are maintained in line with the guidelines.
