**Job Purpose**:
The role of the Project Supervisor is to manage complex CDM sites, supervise a team of electrical fitters and manage a number of other specialist Contractors and Alliance Partners.

The Project Supervisor will manage a CDM site to achieve safety, quality, cost and time targets set by the Project Engineer or Project Manager. The Project Supervisor will coordinate and efficiently organise site operations as to ensure that projects are delivered with full consideration to safety, and within UK Power Networks standards. The Project Supervisor for project purposes will be responsible to the appropriate project nominated Project Engineer.

The role will require the Project Supervisor to manage and maintain project documentation and act as the Project Supervisor under the NEC3 Contract.

**Principal Accountabilities**:
Delivery of projects to time, cost, quality whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety and environmental management.
Ensure construction assurance through audits on quality of work, technical competencies, adherence to specifications, compliance with testing and commissioning procedures and safety and environmental procedures. Ensure that the required project completion data is completed and submitted for processing.
Produce site delivery plans and ensure adequate provision of direct and contract resources, materials and services to ensure that project programmes are maintained.
Site manage contractors to ensure that contractual arrangements are met and that cost controls are in place.
Provide monthly achievement reports & forecasts
Provide input as required into the pre-construction phases of a project
Ensure that all work is carried out to provide very high levels of Customer Service e.g. minimise CIs & CMLs, network risk, and customer complaints.
Ensure that all workers engaged on the projects / portfolio of projects are fully aware of all safety and environmental requirements.

**Main Duties**:
Co-ordinate day to day construction and maintenance activities with Client/ Contractor’s ensuring programmes are met
Obtain quotations from suppliers and raise Purchase Order request in coordination with Business Support team
Change Management - ensure early warning notices and change requests etc are brought to the attention of the Project Manager / Commercial Manager & Stakeholders
Provide technical support and act as appoint of reference for the Construction team
Identify potential project risks/opportunities (raise awareness within team/company)
Proactively seeking continuous improvement
Working unsocial hours when required to respond to faults on system
Represent UKPN when required at meetings with clients and contractors
When undertaking engineering activities manage the team of employees and contractors for the successful delivery
When undertaking engineering activities manage the compliance with all H&S procedures such as Putting People to Work and Distribution Safety Rules

**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience**:
The role requires a sound background in Primary and Grid Substation Construction and cable systems experience working in a project delivery environment.
Authorised to Issue Limitation of Access for Civil and Building works.
Authorised to Issue task Instructions.
Switching authorisation would be an advantage but not necessary as training will be provided.
Holds full driving license
The role also requires organisational skills, attention to detail, the ability to supervise multiple projects, and meet deadlines, and interpersonal skills, and a team of fitters.
A working knowledge of the safety & environmental regulations relating to construction work in the industry. A safety qualification such as IOSH & CITB SMSTS will be advantageous as will experience of working with the CDM regulations and ISO9001 quality processes.
Project Management knowledge would be an advantage.
Flexible attitude to work and working hours
An awareness of the sections business, financial and regulatory obligations
Ability to build working relationships with colleagues and other teams within UKPN and also with external partners
Ability to work as part of a highly focused team to meet tight deadlines and to work with others to achieve shared goals and optimise the contribution of the team
The ability to use own initiative to solve problems, self-motivated with an ambition to achieve.
