Stock Controller

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work with some of the food industry’s best and innovative producers. We are an independent distributor of chilled, ambient and frozen speciality food and drink, specialising in cheese and charcuterie.
We are looking for someone analytical with exceptional attention to detail to oversee all areas of Curd & Cure's stock levels, to ensure customers receive required orders in full, whilst keeping waste to a minimum.
Purchasing Oversight:
- Maintain optimal stock levels daily based on warehouse inventory and sales data.
- Place daily purchase orders via accounting software.
- Co-ordinate supplier returns and ensure credits received.
- Manage goods received notes and coordinate with the warehouse.
- Responsible for supporting Commercial Manager with negotiations to mitigate price increases.
- Minimize waste and shortages, adhering to company KPIs.
Daily Stock Management:
- Handle short life and expired products daily to minimize waste.
- Review shortage reports and communicate updates weekly.
- Manage surplus through initiatives like Too Good To Go.
Timely Reporting:
- Review weekly KPI reports and forecast sales data.
- Conduct rolling and annual stock takes for accurate inventory.
Customer Service Focus:
- Ensure accurate stock locations and completion of weekly stock takes.
- Collaborate with sales department to forecast seasonal decreases and uplifts in sales.
- Assist in range reviews and new product launches.
Other Areas:
- Foster strong cross-departmental relationships for efficient information sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
- Assist in developing and executing annual and quarterly business plans with the management team.
- Aid the Commercial Manager with range reviews, sample requests, and new product launches.
- Support the cuts team with stock adjustments as required.
- Compile daily Warehouse picking KPI reports.
- Communicate directly with the warehouse team, addressing purchasing and stock control queries both in-person and via radio.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience managing multiple SKU’s in a fresh, wholesale environment
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
- Systems knowledge of computer-generated supplier Pos, goods receipting, stock takes and sales data, etc.
- Experience in implementing new procedures and improving stock control within a business.

Hours can be discussed but would typically be 8.30am-5pm Monday-Friday.
Pay: From £26,000.00 per year
