Production Operative

Celebrating its 50th year (1973 to 2023) the Wilks brand is manufactured in Tollesbury providing solutions worldwide to leading companies across marine and other sectors.

Role responsibilities:

- coil, cut and pack profiles in accordance with the job sheet;
- monitor quality of product and advise machine setters of any issues;
- correctly label products and package/stack in accordance with the job sheet;
- complete forms and quality sheets per production run;
- grinding/sanding to improve the flatness and overall appearance of the product;
- assist in moving product within the factory and keeping a tidy work area;
- working closely with other members of the team to assure co-operative and friendly atmosphere with regard to the daily activities of production.

Skills/experience:

- background in a similar role would be beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided;
- a desire to work in a focused environment towards deadlines;
- ability to adapt to varied tasks;
- good communication skills;
- physically fit as the manual handling of raw and finished product will be required.

Contract: Full-time/permanent

Hours: Early shift Monday to Friday 07:15 to 15:45 with a 30 minute unpaid break. Late shift Monday to Friday 12:15 to 20:45 with a 30 minute unpaid break

Benefits: 20 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) with incremental increases after 2 years’ service to a maximum of 25 days after 5 years.

Company sick pay

**Salary**: £10.42/hr (£21,682 per annum)

Late shift also attracts a night rate payment of £29 per night (as applicable)
