As an Assistant Surveyor you will gain practical surveying experience at Hyde. Over the course of a year, you will develop your knowledge and experience of common defects and repairs around different types of Hyde properties and gain the necessary experience to independently diagnose, specify and monitor repairs.

This is the ideal position for Surveying Apprentices who are coming to the end of their apprenticeship, and want to utilise the skills that they have learned whilst embarking on a career at Hyde.

The patch that this role covers is Midhurst/Portsmouth.

**Outputs**
- You will be required to assist with the specification, issue, supervision, and monitoring of property repairs related maintenance.
- Under the direction of the Team Lead, monitor supervise and control the repairs service and ensure compliance with any contracts or service level agreements.
- Attend inspections, taking photos and listening to the customers concerns and use knowledge from qualification to assess the property condition and identify repairs needed. Work with Team Lead over the year to build confidence in successfully and independently diagnosing and specifying works required.
- Provide technical reports, appraisals, measurement, costings and estimates as required, seeking support, as necessary.
- Attend as required, meetings with third party groups including customer forums and committees.
- Under guidance, update documents to reflect changes to the repairs service.
- Issue warning/default notices, enforce liquidated damages and issue variation orders, seeking support as required.
- Any other duties required by your manager to allow Hyde to meet its business objectives.
