**Position**:
Reporting to **Head of Technical Change**, the **Technical Authors** are responsible for creating visual and engaging content that can be easily understood by our clients and internal teams. This might be to explain the detail of how our software works, pointing out the key benefits or it could be release notes, providing details on what is changing in an upcoming software release.

The technical authors will ultimately be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate and informative content is available to our clients and internal teams, whilst also ensuring standardization and consistency of content within ENSEK. This could take the form of document types such as Release Notes, Change Request Documentation, Product Guides, Help Documentation, API Documentation, Wikis.

1. You will be embedded within our product, project delivery and technical teams, to get under the skin of our products and solutions. In time, you will come to know it intimately and be able to describe and communicate the functionality it brings in a simple, coherent fashion.

2. You will need to constantly revise and update our existing documentation, based on system changes and bug fixes.

3. You will ensure Release Notes content is authored on a timely basis to meet the milestones of release cycles such as UAT, Production, Hotfix etc.

4. You will be required to co-ordinate between teams to ensure we capture all changes from all teams

5. You will proof-read, sense-check and ensure company consistency in documentation.

6. You will publish release notes in the ClickHelp platform and ensure the right content is available to our clients.

7. You may be a point of contact with clients for questions or queries around release notes or other externally facing documentation, ensuring queries are responded to and ensuring they are resolved.

8. You may be required to perform ClickHelp configuration and administration changes (workflow, permissions, publication rules etc.)

9. You may be required to review Microcopy on UI components to ensure correct grammar, and consistency with ENSEK documentation and on the platform.

10. You will need to update internal user guides, and glossaries of industry or ENSEK specific terminology to support other users that are authoring content.

11. You may be required to train users in authoring within ClickHelp.

12. Adding value to the experience of our clients, colleagues and other relevant stakeholders through practicing and promoting the ENSEK values.

**Requirements**:
1. Accuracy and attention to detail is vital for this role.

2. Energy Industry experience is also needed for this role.

3. Prior experience of using the tool **ClickHelp** would be highly advantageous.

4. Some previous commercial experience of technical writing is required.

5. Excellent communicator with the ability to listen, collaborate and influence others.

6. Values the importance of teamwork, with experience of working in a remote team being advantageous.

7. Prior knowledge of the agile software development lifecycle and process and ceremonies would also be highly beneficial.

8. You will ideally be technically up to date and aware of topics like microservices and cloud computing.

Ultimately you will be eager to learn, and have a passion for documentation, with a focus on providing the best possible quality of information to our clients to consume.
