Menphys is a local Leicestershire and Leicester Charity that provides a range of services to children, young people and young adults with disabilities, complex health needs and special educational needs. Menphys runs After School Activity Clubs in partnership with other organisations in the county to provide a safe space for children with additional needs to participate in physical activity opportunities.

**Purpose of the club**

1. To provide a safe space for young people with SEND to engage with a physical activity session.

2. To support these young people to build confidence, independence skills and a community of friendship to support their wellbeing

**Purpose of the role**

The Activity Club Lead will lead and manage the running of the Menphys after school provision. The role requires leadership, teamwork and experience with SEND to help support and provide the best experience for the young people attending. The Activity Club Lead will be supported by Menphys Club Support Workers and will work alongside Sport Specific Community Coaches.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. To support our families with young people with disabilities/ special educational need, including but not limited to, meeting and greeting families and tidying away after the session.

2. To help lead and deliver sport sessions and help set up the session alongside the Service Providers, other Activity Club Leaders/Support Workers and volunteers.

3. To be part of, and take the lead of, the team that directly supports the Club Members with the programme of activities and with needs-led support to include delivering low level personal care and any other tasks as required from an assessed need

4. To secure Menphys Hub at the end of sessions - checking and locking windows, checking and locking fire exits, setting the alarm and locking up building.

5. To provide brief positive feedback to parents/carers of Club Members at the end of each Club session, maintaining positive communication links and outcomes

6. De-escalating challenging behaviour in an appropriate and tailored way to Club members

7. To provide scheduled feedback regarding Support Workers to the Service Delivery Manager for additional insightful information for annual staff appraisals

8. Have good communication skills including being discreet, sincere and dedicated with both parents, services users, other staff and service providers

9. To act in a friendly and approachable manner, but maintain the correct level of professionalism.

10. Be committed to the role, being punctual and following the correct procedures for absence/sickness.

11. To work flexibly when the needs arise including attending training, and where necessary covering other clubs/sites as required for the role.

12. To be familiar with Menphys key policies and procedures and support the Service Delivery Manager to ensure that they are followed

13. To report any Safeguarding concerns identified to the Service Delivery Manager adhering to Confidentiality and Safeguarding procedures

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: £11.00-£13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.5 - 7.5 per week
