**Temporary contact to cover maternity leave | £30,151 to £32,020 per annum (Scale H) | 37 hours per week | Norfolk Museums Service (based at Shirehall, Norwich)
We are currently looking to recruit a Registrar, based at the Shirehall, Norwich to support all Norfolk Museums Service sites and departments.

Norfolk Museums Service (NMS) is made up of 10 museum sites across Norfolk, a Study Centre and the Norfolk Collections Centre, our large off site storage facility. We care for over three million objects comprising every discipline, including the Designated Art, Archeology and Natural History collections based at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery.

The post holder will manage and co-ordinate the loans-out programme of NMS objects and collections and to oversee and authorise loans-in through co-ordination with the NMS Exhibitions Officers ensuring best practice and required standards are applied to the administration and execution of loans countywide.

They will also actively support the work of the Collections Development Manager and curatorial staff, to provide collections management and registrar leadership, advice and support across NMS ensuring that all object or collection management activities conform to local and national practices and standards, and that all activities are compliant with relevant legislation and ethical regulations and maintain NMS’s reputation for excellence in collections management.
