The Children’s Bereavement Centre is a highly respected Nottinghamshire charity who has been providing specialist support to bereaved children, young people and their families for 20 years.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced person-centred Bereavement Counsellor or therapist to build on existing successful services in Nottinghamshire, to help expand the range of support to benefit local children and families affected by terminal-illness or the death of someone important to them.

We are seeking someone to provide support within Bassetlaw, particularly Worksop and Retford. The main duties and responsibilities of the role will be to:

- Manage an active caseload of clients and deliver 1:1 counselling and bereavement support through identifying and responding to the needs of your client and adjusting intervention when needed.
- Contribute to the development of 1:1 services as part of the Children’s Bereavement Centre Team.
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of a a range of group social events and/or workshops depending on local need.
- Carry out family assessments to holistically assess, plan and evaluate an individual’s requirement for counselling support.
- Assist in the support and mentoring of volunteers to ensure quality of service and increase retention of volunteers (Senior Counsellor role only).
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns.
- Promote and provide advice and support to professionals within the local community.

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week

**Salary**: £16,216.00-£17,655.00 per year
