Foster Caring for a child is one of the most rewarding Careers you can undertake and although it can be challenging it can also be rewarding.
**The basic requirements of a foster carer are as follows**:
- Have 1 or more spare bedrooms suitable for a child to be comfortable to be in
- everyone in your household needs to pass a DBS check
- are a UK citizen or have indefinite right to remain in UK
- be in generally good health
- be minimum of 21yrs old
There are many **misconceptions about fostering** such as:
- you cannot foster unless you own your own home - **You can**:
- You cannot foster if you are single**:

- there is an age limit to fostering - **there is no upper age limit to fostering**:
- You can't have another job - **as long as the child's needs are met you could still work in another job.**:
