Dance Instructor

Job Summary:
Tappy Toes Chelmsford is expanding and we are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team from September 2024. As a Tappy Toes teacher, you will be responsible for teaching various dance, movement and sensory classes to children and babies between 6 months-5 years.

At Tappy Toes we believe in the transformative power of dance, not just for the children we teach but for their caregivers and our dedicated franchisees.

Classes are 30 minutes each and vacancies are for Monday, Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

**Duties**:

- Deliver our structured lesson plans
- Ensure the children/babies/grown ups are joining in to the best of their ability whilst feeling comfortable and having fun
- Adapting to the capability/personality of each child
- Creating positive interactions with children/grown ups each week
- Using initiative to handle parent queries in class and passing on any queries to the owner of Tappy Toes Chelmsford via WhatsApp after each session (for example letting the owner know of any uniform orders people want to place)
- Setting up and clearing away the table, banner and props at the beginning and end of classes
- Going the extra mile to engage with customers
- Following guidelines, lesson plans, policies and procedures
- Maintain control of the class throughout sessions
- Displaying a 'merchandise' table at every venue which is on show for the duration of sessions
- Full UK driving licence
- you will need a car to transport props and yourself to each venue
- Enhanced DBS check
- Public liability insurance
- Previous experience as a teacher or dance teacher preferred
- If you have dance training that's great however if you have experience of teaching children but no dance background we can teach you all you need to know to be able to deliver our sessions
- Excellent communication skills with parents and management
- Patience and the ability to motivate and inspire children
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and mornings
- Perfect time keeping-Our classes have a short break in between each one and it's essential you are cleared up from the first session and ready for the second one by the time the customers are coming through the door

All equipment and props will be provided and training will be done prior to September start. Free parking is available at all our venues.

Tappy Toes was launched in Chelmsford just 18 months ago and currently we offer classes to over 120 students. Our syllabus is tried and tested and loved and you will be given all the material needed to be a successful part of our team. We are rapidly growing and looking for the right person to join us in spreading the joy of our sessions to more of our area.
