Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Painting and Decorating Apprentice to join our team.

If you have an eye for detail, this could be the apprenticeship for you

As an Apprentice Painter and Decorator, you will join Durham County Council’s highly skilled Building and Facilities Maintenance team, and you will have the opportunity to develop the skills and competencies to be able to assist in the delivery of both contract and repairs and maintenance works within the local authority

Your day-to-day duties will include supporting the Roofing ,Painting and flooring Manager, and wider team, with Repairs and maintenance, as well as promoting and developing working practices and procedures to improve the Health and Safety culture. You will ensure compliance with standards, policies and procedures and promote the service to both existing and potential customers. We will support you as you study towards the Painting and Decorating Level 2 apprenticeship standard.

This apprenticeship is an excellent choice for those with an ambition to progress

**Salary**:
Apprentice £239.83 to £370.64 per week dependant upon age on appointment

Entry requirements

What will I need?
You must either have or expect to achieve 2 GCSE’s grade 9-3/A*-E in English and Maths or an equivalent qualification, together with good communication and ICT skills and the ability to work as part of a team

Training to be provided

As part of your apprenticeship, you will study towards the Painter and Decorator Level 2 standard with New College Durham
