**Working Hours**: Monday - Friday 07.30am - 5.00pm & regular Saturday mornings 08.00am - 12.30pm

Chestnut Building Centres are a family-owned independent Builders Merchant supplying a wide range of quality products at competitive prices to both trade and the public.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Salesman to join our team in Wavertree, Liverpool.
**Role responsibilities for Sales Manager (Trade Counter)**:
As a Sales Manager at Chestnut Building Centres you will manage the day to day running of a busy trade counter. Duties include:
- Day to day management of Trade Counter
- Managing and motivating a team of Sales Assistants
- Maintaining shop stock profile
- Keyholder - required to open and close Store
- Providing excellent customer service when dealing with customers either in branch or over the telephone
- To use knowledge of building materials to assist customers.
- Serving customers within the branch quickly and efficiently
- Checking and replenishing stock on the shop floor
- Maintaining standards of cleanliness and safety within the working environment
- Ordering goods when required and receive deliveries into the store
- Being responsible for cash and credit card handling within the branch and reconciling end of day cash takings as and when required
-- Undertaking any reasonable task from time to time at the Manager’s request as deemed appropriate within the scope of the post
**Person Specification - Sales Manager (Trade Counter)**:
- Able to effectively manage and motivate a team
- A positive, confident and approachable individual
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and develop good working relations with Customers and Suppliers
- Good knowledge of general building, plumbing, roofing and timber materials
- Experience of stock taking and merchandising
- Computer literate and numerate
- Flexible ‘can-do’ attitude
- An excellent communicator with a good command of the English language (written & verbal)
