One Small Thing is striving for positive change across the justice system by implementing small things in a big way.

We provide gender responsive, trauma-informed programmes within the prison and community sectors that consider the individual caught in a cycle of crime and incarceration, with the aim of humanising their experiences. We want to shift the voice of blameand judgement and the_'what’s wrong with them?’_line of questioning to a kinder, respectful and healing approach that asks,_'What has happened to them?’_

**About Hope Street**

**Hope Street**is an exciting, brand-new, purpose-built residential community-based service, designed in collaboration with women, for justice-involved women and their children in Hampshire. Trauma-informed by design it will offer a safe andsupportive environment where women and their children can access education, practical and therapeutic support and activities that build confidence, self-esteem and skills and provide the opportunity to build a fulfilling and happy life and play a meaningfulrole within society.

**About the Role**

As part of a brand-new team setting out to deliver this new and exciting residential service for women and their children from Hampshire, you will be part of the social enterprise team providing the Hope Street café, which is an essential part of the HopeStreet offer to support women to develop their life skills and employment skills. The café will be open to local people, and you will be part of the café team preparing and serving drinks and snacks to customers and supporting at Hope Street community events.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Preparing sandwiches, other snacks and drinks and serving them to customers.
- Maintaining the hygiene and cleanliness of the café.
- Clearing tables and stacking crockery in the dishwasher.
- Stock taking to ensure that the supplies can be re-ordered when running low.
- Using the till system to take money and care payments.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

Although the experience and knowledge listed below would be an advantage, not having it is not essential as full training will be provided. We are keen to recruit people who have an interest in the catering and hospitality industries.

**Desirable Experience & Knowledge**
- Working in the hospitality industry.
- Maintaining professional boundaries with the public whilst delivering an excellent standard of service.
- Knowledge of fire safety management and procedures.
- Knowledge of food hygiene principles and processes.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to listen and communicate effectively.
- Ability to cope under pressure.
- Flexible approach, able to work as part of a team, supporting the service and colleagues as required.
