The **Maintenance planner and scheduler** is responsible for all planning, scheduling, and some spare part management activities within the maintenance department. They will ensure the work is planned effectively, and scheduled appropriately to minimize equipment downtime, ensuring

maintenance technicians utilization and efficiency is maximized, whilst achieving

defined safety and quality standards, thus providing alignment with departmental stakeholders and functions. This is a great opportunity to be involved in defining a new maintenance strategy for the site, enabling the role to further grow within the business as a pivotal player in ensuring the success of the site.

**Core Responsibilities**:
**Planning and Scheduling -**
- Planning of all non-emergency preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective work
- orders(CM) including planned stoppages and outages, whether this be internally or contracted.
- Provides documentation for maintenance jobs with appropriate information to
- ensure effective and efficient job execution
- Prepares maintenance schedules at weekly, daily and shift level inclusive of PM and
- CM work orders as well as planned stoppages
- Reports progress against and adherence to the schedule on a daily basis to align with BAU.
- Reports and explains performance against the previous week’s schedule at a
- weekly meeting with local management (using KPI reports where appropriate)
- Ordering of critical maintenance spares and consumables along ensuring kitting is prepared for pre-planned jobs
- Stock control and stock takes of maintenance stores where required
- Ability and knowledge if required to be tools or shift cover based at times due to sickness/absence

**SAP management in maintenance**
- Plans all work orders within SAP inclusive of operational tasks, resources, time estimates, materials and services to allow effective completion of all maintenance work orders
- The SME within the SAP PM module to enable the maintenance and ever development of the CMMS system on site whether this be creation of new assets, modifications to old, creation/adaptation of maintenance plans, and maintenance scheduling.
- SAP controlling with respect to compliance with statutory examinations such as LEV, LOLER, Pressure vessels and any other statutory inspections relevant to site and industry
- Use of SAP for purchasing/organizing maintenance activities where required.
- Use of data from SAP and other site records to help support the maintenance team on continuous improvement activity.

**Permits/inductions**
- Write /authorizes permits as required for employees and contractors activities
- Ensures the permit system is followed and archives permits where required.
- Carries out audits of PTW to ensure that permits are completed correctly
- Ensure inductions are carried out by contractors and correctly documented

**Safety checks and systems -**
- Carries out job risk assessments with shift engineers for specific new Method Statements or one point lessons where repeatable tasks are been completed
- Participation in the company safety involvement systems

**Statutory compliance duties -**
- In alignment with procurement ensure maintenance materials are compliant with food safety standards relevant to site and best practice and updating records as applicable.
- Understanding of compliance activities and how these need to be scheduled into the maintenance plan, ensuring documentation is filed/recorded correctly
- Any other compliance duties or checks as required.

Mandatory requirements:

- Time served Engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience (NVQ 3, ONC ect)
- Minimum 5 years experience within an engineering role
- Experience using a CMMS system preferably SAP if possible
- Experience in a reliability engineering or planning role preferable, whilst been capable if required to get stuck in on ‘the tools’.
