1. To assess case simple patients independently. Formulate treatment plans, advise on rehabilitation potential and discharge options. 2.

To be responsible for assessing the medical fitness of patients before commencing treatment and to communicate immediately with an appropriate professional any change in patients status or other observations about patient behaviour, ability and response to therapeutic intervention. 3. To assist the Physiotherapists with complex patient assessment, treatment and management, and patients that require more than one person to treat or mobilise. 4.

To supervise and progress patient exercise regimes and treatment programmes including passive mobilisation techniques and stretches. 5. To prioritise the daily ward caseload, decide on case complex/case simple and communicate this information to the coordinator and cluster team. 6.

To participate in ward multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and board rounds to facilitate discharge planning. 7. To communicate effectively and regularly with the patient, family, carers and members of the multi disciplinary team. 8.

To work closely with the Occupational Therapy Team completing joint assessments and discharge planning. 9. To advise members of patients families, carers and nursing staff in correct manual handling procedures in relation to specific patients in your care. 10.

To be competent in assessing for and issuing basic equipment to facilitate activities of daily living and mobility. Monitor and maintain ward stock levels 11. To be involved where necessary with the washing, dressing and cleaning of patients if in association with treatment. 12.

To communicate effectively with the patients in an effort to encourage and motivate them towards their therapeutic goals. 13. To carry out general clerical, administrative and department duties in support of clinical work and at the direction of the Therapists. 14.

To participate in training programmes, journal club, supervision and to take every opportunity to learn and develop skills, knowledge and competencies which will enhance both personal and professional development. 15. To train and support less experienced staff and students as required in order to facilitate their development and completion of competencies. 16.

To participate in the mobility weekend working (approx. 1 weekend a month but may change depending on service needs and staffing levels) To work contracted hours over 7 days
