Part time Phlebotomy Receptionist.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our friendly reception team to deliver first-class customer service to patients. A highly customer focused, skilled multi-tasker, you’ll be the first impression of the organisation. This is a busy Phlebotomy Outpatients Reception area and to be successful in the role you will need the following attributes and experience:
You must be customer focused, with excellent customer service skills

You must be reliable and have excellent time keeping
You must enjoy speaking to people on the telephone and face to face
You must be IT literate
You must be energetic and hard working
The successful applicants will be proactive team members who can demonstrate efficient organisational skills in order to contribute to the smooth effective operation of the outpatient team.
Working hours will be on a rota basis between 0800 - 1400 and 1200 - 1800 Monday to Friday.
You must be flexible to be able to cover these hours to be successful in the role.

**Job Summary**:
To provide a comprehensive receptionist, administrative and supportive service to the multidisciplinary team within Pathology and to patients in the phlebotomy Outpatient Department.
To welcome and receive all patients and visitors attending, and to confirm their test requests and print them off.
To give general advice about the services, where to refer and how to access services to both patients and health care professional
Collect, log and send pathology samples to the laboratory and to other sites within the Trust via air tube or courier service.
To take phone calls from other health care professionals and the general public, referring on as necessary.
Calculate and display waiting times, collate weekly data on patient information.
Handle general complaints and call on senior staff when necessary.
To maintain printer, fax machine, label printer and other equipment within the department.
To organize additional support services for patient as required, such as interpreters and
To undertake the full range of general office duties, including sending reports, photocopying, faxing and filling.
To hand out appropriate sample containers and instructions to patients, and to check patient details on samples handed in.
Participating in audits/surveys within pathology as and when required.

To maintain good work relations with all members of staff to promote effective teamwork and treating everyone associated with the Trust with courtesy and respect.
Financial
To adhere to the principle of eliminating waste in terms of wasteful or unproductive practices and or wasteful and or unproductive use of consumable materials. In this way the post holder will contribute to ensuring best use of limited public resources and cost efficiency / reduction.
Communications and Relationships
To work as part of a team within the laboratory setting and take a supportive, courteous and professional approach at all times in undertaking duties of the MLA post.
To greet members of the public and other healthcare workers at the laboratory reception area.
