**The Role**:
Our award-winning Mission Systems Team deliver some of the worlds most advanced aviation IT systems from our office in Lincoln. As a result of our continued success and business expansion, we are delighted to offer a Scrum Master opportunity to support the development and delivery of our bespoke IT products.

The Mission Systems Team has recently started refining our agile process for software / system development to use Scrum-based methods and requires the introduction of a Scrum Master role.

As our first Scrum Master, you will be responsible for further establishing a Scrum culture by combining your experience, best practice, and the unique constraints of our problem space, and ensuring the current and future effectiveness of our Product Development Teams and Project Delivery Teams.

The main duties of the role will include:

- Serving the Scrum Teams, for example:

- Coaching the team members in Scrum culture, including self-management and cross-functionality.
- Helping Team focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
- Causing the removal of impediments to the Scrum Teams progress.
- Ensuring that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
- Supporting the Product Owner, for example:

- Assisting in establishing techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
- Helping the Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
- Assisting in establishing empirical planning for complex delivery programmes.
- Facilitating stakeholder collaboration as required.
- Supporting the Missions Systems Team, for example:

- Leading, training, and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption.
- Planning and evolving Scrum implementations within the Team, including scaling.
- Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work.
- Removing barriers between stakeholders and Scrum Teams.

This role is based in the Company Offices in Lincoln; remote working is available where tasking allows - applicants should assume that they may be required to work in the office full-time some weeks.

**The Person**:
We are looking for a proactive, articulate, flexible and confident individual with excellent attention to detail and the discipline to produce consistently high-quality output, whilst committing to the principles of developing high quality systems to specific standards. As a member of a small highly skilled team, the responsibilities of the role will necessarily be broad and varied and you should be prepared to assume a comprehensive range of tasks, be capable of working with minimum supervision, be confident enough to contribute your own suggestions and ideas and have a can do attitude as you will be required to take a flexible, constructive and timely approach to meeting the diverse needs of the Companys business.

We require a proactive individual with relevant and recent knowledge and experience of providing output aligned to the role requirements defined above.

Evidence of the following would be considered essential:

- Experience in a Scrum Master role with evidence of success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with systems and software engineering lifecycles, interface and integration.

Evidence (including qualifications or certifications) of any of the following would be considered beneficial:

- Professional Scrum Master I Certification / Certified Scrum Master (or equivalent)
- An understanding of Requirements, Architecture and Verification concepts for Software and Systems.
- Proficiency in the use of Visual Studio, ideally using C#.
- Experience in the use of configuration control tools such as SVN or Git.
- A strong understanding of the aviation environments in which our products are used.
- An understanding of IT Networking concepts.
- System, hardware or software test experience, ideally within a regulated domain (e.g., aerospace).
- An understanding of current safety standards and concepts, for the development of systems for safety related systems (e.g., RTCA/DO-178C, DO-200A, DO-254).
- An understanding of current security standards and concepts (e.g., HMG IA, ISO 27001, Secure-by-Design).

**Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.**
