**Job Title**:Payroll Administration

**Salary**:£25,000 -£30,000

**Location**:Guildford

**Reference**: 16121

**Purpose of role**:To maintain client payrolls on an outsourced basis.

**Key responsibilities**:
**Payroll Run**
- Processing weekly, monthly and quarterly payroll runs.

**Client Payroll Records**
- Maintain payroll records for all staff, including setting up new records, amendments to pay

details, updating for leavers and any other adjustments.
- Arranging payments for salaries where necessary, PAYE and pension payments for some clients.
- Submission of information to HMRC under RTI.

**Client Payroll Enquiries**
- Answering general client queries by written correspondence and by telephone.
- Dealing with HMRC correspondence.

**Payroll Administration**
- Processing P45s, Maternity Pay, statutory sick pay and other statutory payments & deductions.
- Filing and file preparation.

**Data Entry**
- Basic administration and entry of data in respect of Client Payrolls.

**Year - End Procedures**
- To produce P60s and reconcile PAYE and NI deductions for the year.

**Key Competencies**:

- Confidentiality - to exercise complete discretion, ensuring confidentiality is maintained in all matters relating to client staff records.
- Communication - good communication skills, particularly telephone manner as there will be involvement with clients, partners and other staff.
- IT Skills - computer literate with good keyboard skills especially Word and Excel.
- Teamwork - able to work as part of a team and provide support in all areas where necessary, in a busy office environment.
- Planning and organising - to be able to organise own work and prioritise workloads. To meet client and HMRC deadlines

**Key Experience/Skills**:

- Relevant experience in a payroll environment.
- STAR /IRIS payroll software experience is desirable.
- Experience of Computerized payroll software.
- Thorough knowledge of payroll legislation and keeping up to date with new legislation.
- Knowledge of Word & Excel essential.
