We pride ourselves on the way we do business and understand that we are successful because of our people. As such we are looking for a superstar **Packaging Assistant** to join our **Packaging** **Team** based in **Sittingbourne, Kent, **working 5 days per week.

Our **Packaging Assistants** support the **Technical Team** to maintain relationships between our growers, pickers and packers, ensuring we are able to meet our customer demand. Some of the objectives are:

- Request data on all packaging (primary, secondary and tertiary) used in the supply chain from various countries abroad. This will be done via Packaging Declarations Data sheet.
- Assess the quality of information received in Packaging Declaration requests and challenge the accuracy of the data by requesting further information as required.
- Request and upload documents supporting the data and claims on the Packaging Declarations.
- Update and maintain a Packaging Declaration Master Data sheet to collate all information received.
- Update both Technical and Procurment Teams on the progress of data collections and seek assistance and support as required.
- Ensure all relevant Due Diligence documents are up to date and stored on the Technical >Packaging drive and uploaded onto the dps Packaging Portal e.g. BRC Certificates, BRC Audit Reports, ISO Certificates, Migration Tesco Reports, Declarations of Compliance, FSC Certificates, PEFC Certificates, Specification Sheets.
- Support Packaging Manager in completing retailer requests for packaging data and information e.g. updating the new Tesco Packaging Connect Portal, Valpak, Ecoveritas etc.
- Support Packaging Manager in obtaining SMP (Supplier Managed Process) approvals for M&S.
- Spend 1or 2 days at ISS Teynham or Linton to perform Intake checks to validate Packaging Declarations. This will entail listing the components used on the pallet build (primary, secondary, tertiary) and weighing samples on Plastics (for Plastic Packaging Tax audit prep) and occasionally non-plastic components (for EPR Records (Extended Producer Responsibility).
- Contact and challenge suppliers where the Packaging Declaration does not match Intake Checks which will be performed at regular intervals.
- Communicate PDF’s required for promotional activity to ISS and various 3rd party packing sites.
- Request ad hoc stock checks from ISS as required.
- Request ETA of packaging components for new lines to ensure the line can launch on time.
- Assist Packaging Manager with any queries from ISS and 3rd party packing sites.
