The businesses vision and values are to create unique, innovative and desirable environments to run weddings and events, whilst developing sustainable and strong financial returns for the venue owners and making a positive contribution to local economy. Services include; operationally managing all aspects of wedding venues, from start-up, to marketing and sales, through to delivering the catering and bar, as well as managing all elements of the property asset.

There are currently 4 venues: Ashton Lodge Country House in Warwickshire, Milling Barn in Hertfordshire, Plum Park Manor in Northamptonshire, and The Great Barn in Oxfordshire.

The Venue Group and its Directors have a passion to grow the business and provide an excellent customer service. Working at the Venue Group provides opportunities to socialise across the venues, including an all company staff party once a year and local social events throughout the year. The company is young and dynamic, and with its drive for growth, it is expected that the accounts assistant will be able to grow with the business.

**The Role**:
The finance role within the company has been growing over the past few years alongside the growth of the business, the role of the Accounts Assistant will be to assist the Finance Director on the timely delivery of monthly reporting for each of the venues, as well as ensuring the day to day purchase and sales ledgers are maintained.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Processing invoices, receipts and payments.
- Reconciling accounts and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconciliation between the CRM and finance spreadsheets and the Xero accounting package.
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a weekly basis.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Preparing and processing journal entries.
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements.
- Providing support to the accounting team as needed.
- Assist in Zero hours payroll.
- Assist in providing financial information to management where needed.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Qualified or Part Qualified ATT, or accounting experience through studying considered.
- Experience of processing sales and purchase invoices preferred.
- Experience of general ledger administration and day-to-day use of a recognised accounting software system preferred.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong numeracy skills - demonstrates attention to detail and a high concern for accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills - proficient in the use of Excel for manipulating and analysing data.

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
