**WHAT TO EXPECT**

This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start.

Your base will be at Whitley within the Prototype Tooling & Fixtures department. You’ll be supporting Prototype body build & battery assembly activities across Jaguar Land Rover Midland sites.

You’ll assemble and inspect/calibrate and verify a variety of tooling, jigs, fixtures, rigs and mechanical assemblies using a Faro arm (portable co-ordinate measurement machine - CMM). Also, carry out root cause analysis and identify resolutions during prototype vehicle build activity.

**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities**
- Assembly of Prototype Vehicle Fixtures, Jigging & Tooling
- Component manufacture supporting Prototype Vehicle Fixtures, Jigging & Tooling
- Support Prototype Facility readiness in line with Program requirements.
- Measurement, setting & verification of Prototype Tooling & Fixtures in line with required quality requirements
- Programme and set up Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to support departmental & operational requirements
- Analyse measurement data and create appropriate reports
- Support Change Management requirements & support in Plant CCAR (Concerns & Countermeasures Action Report) issues
- Follow departmental Policy & Procedures
- Support the implementation and monitoring of the area’s compliance with corporate initiatives/ standards
- Application of all relevant Health and Safety procedures and requirements within the facility along with the ownership of all associated housekeeping
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

**WHAT YOU’LL NEED**

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**

Essential
- Indentured apprenticeship in engineering or NVQ level 3 in relevant field
- Significant 3D CMM experience
- Some experience of vehicle body assembly
- Extensive experience in fixtures & jigging assembly, setting & verification
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings
- Capable of manufacturing metal components using a number of methods (Machining / fabrication)
- Extensive use of Engineering hand tools
- Moderate PC skills including Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint/Ms Teams
- Full UK driving licence

Desirable
- Basic Knowledge of Catia V6
- Experience of CAM2 software
- Experience of tooling & facility alignment using laser trackers
- Knowledge and practical understanding of Health & safety, COSHH (Control of Substance Hazardous to Health) and environmental procedures
