**About the opportunity**:
We are currently looking for a permanent **Credit Controller** to join our growing Finance department at our Stonehouse, Gloucestershire Office.

As an **Credit Controller,** you will Finance Manager (FM) and is responsible for the management and control of the customer ledger. You would be working alongside our experienced credit controllers and with the wider finance team. The provision of the highest levels of Customer Service at all times is essential to this role and would suit someone with credit control experience and who enjoys working with a team.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Posting of Cash Receipts onto Ledger
- Identify receipts and enter onto cash receipts list daily
- Allocation and Reconciliation of Payments
- Liaise with UKPS Project Finance team and clients to resolve payment variances
- Update project folders to reflect receipts
- Management of Credit Control Inbox
- Shared inbox with Credit Controllers and Finance Manager
- Updating Payment Promised Schedule on a daily basis
- New Remittances added to payment promised list
- When received in the bank, transfer details to cash receipts summary
- Chase payment when remittance date has passed
- Chasing payments due from clients
- Chased weekly by aged debtor list
- Prioritisation and proactive chasing of debts
- Liaise with project finance team and construction to resolve queries

**About you**

**Experience / Knowledge**:

- Previous experience in an accounting/credit control position
- Understanding of the Sales Ledger process
- Ability to adapt to new systems
- Understanding of HMRC VAT Reverse Charge Scheme

**Attributes**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to adapt to a fast changing environment working well within a team and support colleagues as required
- Strong organisational skills; structured and systematic working practice
- Desire for achieving strong financial control without constraining the business objectives
- Good communication skills
- Able to demonstrate commercial acumen
