Perth, United Kingdom Home Start Perth and Kinross Full time

**This is a volunteer role - unpaid**

**Home-Start is the leading family support charity striving to give young children the best possible start in life. We work with families to help them overcome issues such as isolation, mental health difficulties, bereavement, family breakdown, addiction, physical ill-health and many others.**

**We were the first Home-Start in Scotland and have been supporting local families in Perth & Kinross for over 35 years.**

**Home Start-Perth and Kinross currently has vacancies for trustees.**

Trustees undertake a wide range of roles but are mainly responsible for making the charity effective, providing overall direction and maintaining sound management of funds. We are especially keen to hear from anyone with a financial experience background.

Trustees help make decisions and guide the charity to deliver the best possible service for the families it supports. Being a trustee can be hard work, but it is also very rewarding, giving many opportunities for personal development and the chance to give something back to your local community.

We are looking for specialist skills like finance, IT, fundraising and marketing but if you don’t have these, please do offer your own life experience and skills.

**What’s in it for you?**

You can give back to others using your existing skills and experience and what you’ve learned along the way. It can help you with your own personal and career development by growing your experience and knowledge of the voluntary sector with training and the support of experienced board members. Home-Start Perth and Kinross is an independent charity, but we are affiliated to the national organisation Home-Start UK which means that trustees can also access national training, networking and support.
