You will assist the Regulatory Controllers Trade Effluent (RCTE) in the control and monitoring of trade effluent discharges to sewers for a dedicated group of low risk non-household customers. Assistance to other areas within or outside of the current team may be required

**Job Accountabilities**:

- Taking of samples and meter readings for control and monitoring for low risk traders and assisting RCTE's in this process for other traders as required
- Liaising with non-household customers
- Supporting RCTE's in identifying illegal discharges to sewer
- Reviewing and notifying sample analysis results for a defined portfolio of traders
- Escalating non-compliance to the relevant (Lead)RCTE
- Assisting with the gathering and provision of evidence to support enforcement action
- Assisting with the investigations and report on incidents and spillages to the highway and sewerage system
- Providing out of hours support during incidents relating to trade effluent discharges

**Knowledge and Skills**:
To be considered for this role you will be certified at NVQ/QCF level 3 or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline as well has having significant knowledge of Trade Effluent legislation and the retail market. You will also have:

- Knowledge of the company's Health & Safety culture, processes and systems
- Experience of a customer facing environment
- Planning, organisational, problem solving and communication skills
- IT skills including MS Word and Excel
- The ability to work in a pressured environment and be self-motivated with the ability to prioritise own work
- Experience of ensuring that deadlines are regularly met and quality outputs not compromised by required deadline
- A valid full UK driving licence Basic knowledge of Wastewater Treatment and Sewer Network

**Additional Information**:

- You will be required to be on a standby rota and must have the facility to attend within an optimum timescale.
- You must have access to your own vehicle
