Band 6 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK,

Secondment / Fixed Term until 31/03/2024

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic practitioner into this challenging and rewarding diagnostic role. The post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of the Autism Diagnostic pathway, undertake screening assessments to consider appropriate progression to full assessment and work closely to develop relationships across the post-diagnostic MDT. You will have the opportunity to develop your skill within this specialist area, undertake valuable CPD and contribute towards the ongoing implementation and development of policies and procedures relevant to this area, in line with the Autism Strategy.

The post holder will be required to work independently in a variety of settings, predominantly within 2 Jubilee Close’s outpatient department, however there may be occasions where you would need to travel to agreed locations within the community (Home, Day Services, Inpatient wards, or educational settings). You would be supporting the assessment and diagnosis of autism, through undertaking screening assessments and commencing the initial information gathering process.

You will be autonomous in regard to diary management; however you would be supported by the administrative team.

We are looking for applicants to fulfil the following

Recognised professional qualification e.g., RMN, RNLD, DipSW, CQSW, BA OT, DipClinPsych, or equivalent.

Relevant experience at undergraduate/post graduate level.

Excellent interpersonal skills including observation, listening and empathy skills.

Experience of report writing and confidence within IT skills, to ensure comprehensive clinical records

To provide screening/diagnosis to individuals referred to the service..

The post holder will as part of a service provide clinical diagnostic assessments for people who are referred to the Adult Autism Pathway for Doncaster.

The post holder may also support the dual assessment pathway for Autism and ADHD, by undertaking dual-screening assessments.

The post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of clinical pathway, strategy, policies and procedures relevant to this area of work in line with the Autism Strategy as required.

The post holder will act as part of a service and participate in the development and delivery of a programme of training in line with Trust training and collaborate in existing training provision in this area to reflect the needs of the health and social care community.
