Carpenter/joiner

Actually Lodges have full-time opportunities for detail-oriented timber framer/carpenters to join our team building bespoke timber frame for lodges and garden rooms.

The Company:
We are a specialist timber frame lodge manufacturer who design and manufacture timber framed lodges and garden room for the leisure and tourism industry.

This position requires the successful applicant to be a time served carpenter and have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in general carpentry.

The successful applicant must have knowledge of hand and power tools, equipment, and materials relating to timber framing and carpentry.

Key responsibilities include:

- Layout, fabrication, finish, and erection of timber frames.
- Reads and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Fabricates, assembles, and finishes timbers using shop equipment, portable hand and power tools.
- Assures materials and products meet quality standards and job specifications
- Erects timber frames.
- Maintains workshop environment, tools, and equipment.
- Assemble door frames, window, and door linings, hang doors, fit skirting, architrave, ceiling trims and flooring.
- Supervises junior crew members and apprentices.
- Kitchen fitting experience would be an advantage.

Requirements and skills:

- Proven experience as carpenter
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
- Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required.
- Prepare wood structures for finishing by shaping and trimming with hand or power tools.
- Carry out measurement and installation of wooden floorings.
- Implement safety and health regulations during work operations to ensure environmentally friendly and safe culture.
