(a) To prepare varied, nutritious, balanced menus that take account of the expressed preference and dislikes of individual residents and providing acceptable alternative food for residents as necessary.

(b) To plan and prepare menus in advance and for a time cycle determined by the Manager or Proprietors to meet special dietary needs, physical eating abilities or limitations or personal preferences whether for medical, nutritional, religious or cultural reasons.

(c) To ensure orders for food and provisions are sent on time and any discrepancies rectified.

(d) To ensure that all meals are served attractively and in portion sizes that take account of resident’s wishes and appetites.

(e) To work with the care staff and residents in finding out residents likes and dislikes and planning for special events e.g. birthdays and residents parties etc.

(f) To instruct and supervise the Kitchen Assistant in the duties required and the manner in which they are to be carried out.

(g) To be responsible for maintaining required standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safe food storage, preparation, cooking and serving practices.

(h) To prepare food orders as required by the manager maintaining stocks and special dietary ingredients to meet all foreseeable requirements of residents and to ensure that they are adequately fed.

(i) To maintain the standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and ensure that all the records required by Food Safety and Health & Safety Regulations are maintained.

(j) To be responsible and accountable to the Manager on the security of the kitchen and the food stocks and the safe operation of all equipment and to report any discrepancies malfunctions or concerns immediately.

**Salary**: £12.50-£13.00 per hour
